After his release, he served as the executor of his brother-in-law, Leo D’Avanzo, who ran an organized crime operation at a Brooklyn restaurant for loans and betting. The family lived in East Flatbush, Brooklyn, until Harold died of prostate cancer in 1981. Then Helen moved to the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Helen appeared in a television commercial in 1993 to promote her son in the mayoral elections.
When Giuliani was seven years old in 1951, his family moved from Brooklyn to Garden City South, where he attended St. Anne’s Catholic School there. Later, he returned to Brooklyn to attend Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School, which he completed in 1961.
Giuliani attended Manhattan College in Riverdale, Bronx, where he specialized in political science specializing in philosophy and considered becoming a priest. Giuliani was elected president of his class in his second year, but in his third year he was not re-elected. He joined the Phi Rho Pi Brotherhood. He graduated in 1965. Marriages and relationships
On October 26, 1968, Giuliani married his second cousin, Regina Peruggi, whom he had known since childhood. In the mid-1970s, the marriage ran into trouble, and in 1975 they agreed to part with the trial. Perugia did not accompany him to Washington when he accepted employment with the Attorney General.
Giuliani first met local TV personality Donna Hanover in 1982 and they started meeting when she was working in Miami. Giuliani requested on 12 August 1982 the legal separation of Peruggi. The marriage between Giuliani and Peruggi ended in two ways: in late 1982, a civil divorce was enacted, while the annulment of the Roman Catholic Church of marriage between Giuliani and Peruggi was granted in late 1983, reportedly because Giuliani had discovered that he and Peruggi second cousins were. Then Alan Placa, Giuliani’s godfather, became a priest and helped to achieve the annulment. Giuliani and Peruggi had no children.
Giuliani and Hanover married on April 15, 1984 in a Catholic ceremony in the Santa Monica Church in Manhattan. They had two children, her son Andrew and her daughter Caroline.
In 1995 there were rumors that Giuliani had an affair with his spokeswoman Cristyne Lategano. On Father’s Day earlier this year, Giuliani had told reporters that he would return to Gracie Mansion to play ball with his son, but instead would take Lategano to a basement in the town hall. Three hours later, Hanover went to the town hall to confront Giuliani, but an assistant to the mayor prevented him from entering the lawsuit. In 1996, Donna Hanover returned to her professional name and virtually stopped appearing in public with her husband.
Giuliani was married to Hanover in May 1999 when he met Judith Nathan, sales manager of a pharmaceutical company, at the Macanudo Club, a cigar bar on the Upper East Side. They formed a continuous relationship. In the summer of 1999, Giuliani charged the cost of his New York police safety data to hide the city authorities and keep his relationship with Nathan out of public scrutiny. In early 2000, police began to provide Nathan with chauffeur services to the city.
