Renee Greeley Career at District School
Greeley, a teacher with the district since 2008, did not return a request for comment Friday. She identified the teacher in the video as Renee Greeley, a technology instructor at Drexel Hill Middle School.
Renee Greeley Racial Statements
Renee Greeley was caught on video using a racial epithet toward an African-American parent named Rasheed Noel in the school parking lot during a verbal altercation following a fender-bender between the two. Noel was dropping off his child for a school that morning.
Upper Darby Superintendent Dan McGarry sent out a statement Thursday evening announcing Greeley, though not named in the statement, was placed on administrative leave. He said racist or discriminatory behavior is not accepted in the district.
The incident came to light late Thursday when Rasheed Noel posted a video to his Facebook page of a heated exchange he had with Renee Greeley after a fender bender in the school’s parking lot that morning.
School Authorities Statements
Upper Darby School District Superintendent Daniel P. McGarry said that the district is in the process of conducting formal hearings about the matter, and is taking the incident “extremely seriously.”
