Patrick Grandperret (24 October 1946 – 9 March 2019) was a French film director, screenwriter and producer. His film Meurtrières was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival.

ASSISTANT OF PIALAT
After studying business at ESSEC, Patrick Grandperret, a passionate motor sports enthusiast, signs for photographic reports on major prizes. In the early 70s, playing Above Volcano of Malcolm Lowry instilled in the young man a desire for cinema – even if the work is finally brought to the screen by John Huston . He started in the 7th Art as a photographer, then became an assistant director, especially with Pialat , on Pass your bac first (1979) and Loulou (1980).

In 1981, he directed his first feature film, Courts-Circuits , in which this former biker mixed his passion for racing two-wheelers and his attachment to the left-out of society. A filmmaker on the sidelines, Patrick Grandperret then earns a living by producing dozens of commercials.
