Freeda Foreman Career and Education

Freeda was the daughter of George Foreman and Andrea Skeete. Foreman followed in her father’s footsteps to the ring. She made her professional boxing debut in 2000 against Laquandra Landers in Las Vegas in June 2000, ending up winning her first five fights. After her sixth fight ended in a loss, She retired after the loss with a pro record of 5-1 with 3 KOs to focus on personal matters and other projects.

As TMZ reports, her father George reportedly paid her to quit boxing. At the height of her boxing career, Freeda appeared as herself on an episode of Fox’s King of the Hill.

Prior to her death, Foreman was an advocate for reform of the American justice system, saying on her Twitter bio that she “aspires to make a positive difference in our American Criminal Justice System.”

Freeda wrote on her Facebook bio that she took a break from boxing in 2005, following her retirement she had become a promoter, to become a mother. In 2011, Foreman began studying Public Policy at Texas Southern University and eventually graduated from Sam Houston State University with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. Foreman described her areas of focus as being corrections, criminology, and criminal justice policy. Foreman aspired to work with non-violent offenders to help reintegrate into society.

Freeda’s body was found in her home near Houston, Texas by a family member on March 9th, 2019. She was 42. KHOU’s Brett Buffington reports that Freeda’s death is being investigated as a suicide. Buffington adds that Freeda was found dead in her Atascocita home “hanging in a closet.”  She is survived by her husband, 2 daughters, 3 grandchildren, her parents, George Foreman and Andrea Skeete, and 11 siblings.
